Today we had a chance to experiment with Makey Makey! A device which turns all sort of objects into controllers. You can take anything conductive - like fruits, coins, or even people - and connect them to Makey Makey using alligator clips. When one of these objects are touched, it completes a circuit, which then sends a signal to the computer.

While experimenting with Makey Makey I have decided to create a simple controller which will function like the WASD keys on the keyboard. In order to do that I have prepared a simple shell for my controller using clear plastic to which I have attached a range of colourful buttons. Afterwards, I have attached alligator clips to both buttons and the Makey Makey board. With a USB cable I have connected the construction with my laptop.

Gameplay

In order to test my controller I have found a web game titled "Little Runmo" which conveniently used WASD controls. Below I have attached a video of me playing the game.

Overall, I found Makey Makey to be an extremely useful tool! It has a variety of uses for all sorts of projects. Perhaps I could find myself using Makey Makey to make a controller for my project? Maybe there can be a way to control my robot? I am not certain yet but it will be definitively an interesting thing to look into.
