During this week I was away due to the Amsterdam trip, however, despite that I have stayed in contact with my group via our discord server.

The song we chose for this music video is Action Movie Hero Boy by Lemon Demon. We chose this song because we all love the music artist, on top of that we wanted our music video to be funny and entertaining while also remaining professional and detailed.

Preparation

Since the song is about a child wanting to star in a movie explosion, and the first line is "I gotta figure out where Mommy keeps the dynamite," Cassie (our cameraman) decided to make a fake dynamite stick. She used an empty shaving cream can, red tissue paper, a black sharpie, and some tie wraps.

Additionally, we wanted to create a handmade look for the music video, as if the child in the song made the props himself. So we cut cardboard into the shapes of flames, both large and small. Then we painted them red, orange, and yellow, added details with a black sharpie, and let them dry. This allowed us to use homemade-looking fiery props that match the song's playful, DIY explosion theme.

Story Board

Filming – Day 1

The park next to the university was our first filming location. We originally planned to film the opening and the transition from instrumental to lyrics there, with Lee (the actor) sitting on the swing and flipping through a notebook. However, we later changed it to Lee sitting on a horse instead. We used a camera on a tripod for most shots, though I had to handhold the camera for a few. I also adjusted the ISO because the brightness outside was too high.

Filming – Day 2

Originally, day two of filming was scheduled for a garage/shed, but due to space constraints and logistical challenges, we switched to the university's 3D Workshop. The workshop provided a garage-like setting with ample room for filming and easier transport of equipment. Aside from the opening and closing greenscreen scenes, the workshop served as the primary location for the music video shoot. We relied heavily on tripod shots, with limited handheld motion.
